Since 1997, this forum has been a venue for discussion of important issues common to geophysical science departments, including research funding, program assessment, modernization of postsecondary curricula, increasing faculty diversity, and student career planning. The program is comprised of three components: an annual workshop, monthly webinars, and a virtual community.
AGU/AGI HEADS AND CHAIRS WEBINARS
The American Geosciences Institute is collaborating with AGU’s Heads and Chairs program to provide critical support for geoscience academic departments. One of the key activities of this collaboration is the monthly webinar series that is available for anyone to participate in but which is specifically designed to address issues raised by geoscience department chairs.
AGU HEADS AND CHAIRS WORKSHOPS
This 1-day workshop, which occurs at the Fall Meeting, provides an opportunity for heads and chairs of Earth and space science departments to meet other heads and chairs and discuss issues and strategies for building a strong department and to learn more about current issues.
AGU HEADS AND CHAIRS COMMUNITY
Join this virtual community of heads and chairs of Earth and space science departments to engage with other leaders, share ideas and resources, and seek and give advice on current issues facing departments. Email Pranoti Asher at firstname.lastname@example.org to join the conversation.
